Cut open, the kamatis reveals everything. Filipino cooks know this cross-section by heart — the chambers, the seeds, the juice that hits the pan and immediately becomes something else entirely.

The piece renders a tomato sliced open: sterling silver plated in gold for the skin and flesh, hand-painted to capture the deep red of a ripe kamatis. Orange sapphires and multicolored tourmalines set as seeds in their chambers, vivid and alive. The stem still attached, as if it just came off the vine.
